The BIGMAR was founded in 1977 and began port activities in 1981, primarily in the port of Angra dos Reis – RJ and subsequently expanded its activities to all over brazilian cost, working in ports like: Vitoria (ES), São Sebastião (SP), Itajai (SC), Paranaguá (PR), Rio Grande (RS), Santos (SP), Recife (PE), and others.
In 2002, the company expanded operations to Offshore Market, with the acquisition of Offshore Vessels and Barges.
Currently Bigmar has a fleet of Offshore Support Vessels, Harbour Tugs, and Barges.
Besides the operation and chartering of vessels, Bigmar has a shipyard, located in Ilha da Conceição, Niterói (RJ), for construction and repair of vessels up to 500 tons in a career and repair of vessels of medium / large (up to 3.5 m draft) on the dock of the Bigmar shipyard.
